This a beautiful home in friendly and coveted Bear Creek Estates, a large-lot subdivision less than 20 minutes from downtown Austin.. There’s a fabulous outdoor entertaining area overlooking the pool and a fireplace. Handsome wood floors were recently installed downstairs, and the gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream with a gas range, convection oven, stainless appliances and granite counters, island, breakfast bar and built-in breakfast table. The spacious master is located downstairs, along with two other bedrooms. A game room and 4th bedroom, currently used by the owners as a media room, are upstairs. French doors open to a balcony with a great view out over the surrounding countryside.

The Garage Mahal (with a lift!) is situated toward the rear of the property and its colors blend in with the colors of the house, so, large as it is, it does not impact the attractiveness of the property. The height of the garage doors allow for an RV to fit through easily. It you’re not a car enthusiast, the large space work superbly as a studio. It is immaculate and has been perfectly maintained. There's another 3-car side-entry garage attached to the house.

The organic garden has raised beds for vegetables and flowers. Nothing else is needed but water and warm weather before you can plant your seeds for the next growing season.

Located just over the country line, in Hays County, you’re only 5 minutes from Circle C, major shopping and groceries. Have all the amenities of the city while you live in the Hill Country enjoying peace, quiet, wildlife, lower Hays country taxes and highly acclaimed Dripping Springs schools.

    A WORD FROM THE OWNERS:
"The vista of the horse properties on either side of the road as you cross over Bear Creek are a beautiful way to arrive home every day. I'm always uplifted at the sight of a Blue Heron or King Fisher flying across the road as I come down the hill. We've really enjoyed the privacy and serenity that country living has afforded us. The house sits the perfect distance from the road to shelter the deck and back yard while providing us with a serene sanctuary of peaceful living. We can spend time in the organic vegetable garden or entertaining friends and family around the pool and not be bothered by the fast pace of the city. Yet, when we're ready for some city life, it's a brief 20-minute trip to downtown.

The wildlife that visits our property has been one of our favorite experiences. White tailed deer and roadrunners wander the property regularly. My personal favorite is the vast number of ruby-throated hummingbirds that migrate through Central Texas every year and frequent our three feeders of organic sugar water. Many an evening has been spent on the back porch admiring their antics.

Since putting in the vegetable garden in 2010, we've enjoyed living an organic lifestyle in the hill country. We were able to transfer our "green" philosophy of landscaping and caring for the lawn to growing our own food. It has been soul fulfilling to watch our daughter grow and pick her own fruits and vegetables from her own garden and tend her baby chicks. We have seven beautiful hens now laying eggs and wandering the property daily in search of the vast array of bugs and plants that would not be present in a chemically treated landscape."

    About the Garage:
"Having a hobby is a great way to release the stresses of a busy career. Coming home to the vast workshop with full amenities such as a two post lift and compressed air system have afforded me the ability to tinker on antique vehicles with ease. The shop is an "overbuilt" 1530sq ft (30'X53') with another 450 sq ft of sturdily built loft for storage. The tall insulated ceiling and N/S orientation with huge doors front and back make working in the shop a breeze even in the hottest of days. Insulating and cooling/heating the building were in the plans and could be done with ease. The shop has it's own separate electric service so does not affect the main home and also has water plumbed to it. Would be ideal for rainwater collection too! Roughed out waste lines for eventual addition of a bathroom if desired. 220V services for RV hookup alongside the 18' wide parking pad down the side of the shop, 30A and 50A services inside for welding, compressor, or any other needs the handyman could think of. Built in 2007 as an auto restoration hobbyist's dream the shop could easily serve function for the serious wood worker or any other hobby you could think of!"
